I JUST WANT TO DANCE, 2011
I have never really danced. Never learned to move. Never performed.
Recently, I felt like I needed to.
I just wanted to move. I just wanted to dance.
Dancers train, sweat and give it all they can.
This impresses me and makes me feel in no other way than dance can.
Dancers are compulsive, like me, and maybe that is what I like about dance.
These are videos, which show me dancing.
I obviously have no special talent as a dancer. But I need to do something with my body.
I am like those amateur dancers on the Internet.
I could be one of them. Just anyone. Just dancing.
I am listening to a song you can’t hear. You can put my headphones on, but you will only hear my feet on the ground.
In the context of this installation, the music heard will come from the drawing videos.
There is music, visual information and a feeling of invasion when you enter the room.
